A recurrent theme and starting point of recent work have been based on memories, both recent and not so recent that have left a visual impact. This represents a passing moment in a particular place and time. Some of the work has included the use of iconic imagery. Other work follows a social documentary scene with a snapshot of people in a particular place and moment in time. This frequently included social events and gatherings, including elements of the art scene, which often bring their own unique theatrical ambience.
All the pieces are worked on concurrently, allowing each piece to breathe and develop at its own pace. Resting the work allows reflection, knowing when the work is complete. It is never clear how the final piece is going to resonate from the initial concept. This is always an inspiration that contributes strongly to the creative process.
