Keira Rathbone
London-based artist Keira Rathbone employed the typewriter as a drawing tool since 2003, typing landscapes, portraits, nature and objects using the characters to translate what she sees into 'typics'. This is done directly from life, or from her Chiswick studio.
Public typing attracts intrigue and interaction from people of all ages and backgrounds when they witness Keira's unique artform - a big reason why she still explores this medium.
Keira’s Lockdown art was featured on BBC London News in Jan ‘21. She’s currently busy with commissions, collaborations, events, raising the kids and making and selling her typics to hugely appreciative collectors.
