Rachel Megawhat is a London based painter and photographer
She continues to release new experimental work as well as some
archive prints giving tantalizing glimpses into her very extensive
archive with some upcoming book releases on the horizon.
Her career spans 3 decades during which time she has photographed amongst others, musicians, politicians, pornographers, terrorists, models, artists, and a lot of flowers
After studio photographic training in her teens, She learned documentary photography by working as 'photographer in residence' at the South London nightclub Imperial Gardens in the 90s, the archive of which is soon to be published as part of the Cafe Royal books series.
She became a Mother in the late 90s and has raised two sons in South London. She spent the 00's making artwork about how Internet technology would impact society. After completing a part-time MA at Camberwell whilst her kids began primary school, she later began participating in Art/Tech hackathons, a phenomenon of the Tech City era. She later spent time as a photojournalist. An early adopter of citizen journalism websites she found herself working as a political and hard news photographer. She remains a member of the highly respected British Press Photographers Association.
She was recently featured in the LA based Festival of Curious Minds
She has been appearing at ACBF since 2017 selling a series of highly collectable unique polaroids as well as prints and paintings.
