Tintypes are a 19th century technique creating photography directly onto metal without the use of film. It is an astonishing process that Tif Hunter has worked with for the past decade; seamlessly blending a hundred-year-old practice with modern subjects and lighting.
Each tintype is unique and being handmade, will always have natural marks and smudges brought on by the chemical process.
Tif has worked for clients including fashion brand TOAST, and Hiut Denim. He’s won countless awards for his work including D&AD and AOP and exhibited across the UK.
