Bumble & Earwig
Laura, aka Bumble & Earwig, creates miniature faux-taxidermy sculpture using the process of needle felting.
Inspired by the great Victorian taxidermists, she creates small wearable pieces such as trophy head brooches, as well as miniature scenes housed within domes and dioramas. She does not aim to replicate the naturalistic scenes from which they were inspired, but instead places the animal protagonists within contemporary scenes, which include subtle hints at environmental issues, or social commentary.
