Hannah is a London based painter with a background in the theatre and design industries. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, her practice was experimental, producing work that is an abstract illusion. Since March 2020 Hannah's work has become more direct in narrative, drawing on memories and reflecting the day-to-day.
Her paintings have been described as philosophically alive, dealing with ideas about loss, nostalgia and the self.
There is a sense of economy in the work whereby compositions are kept simple and space dominates, colours are muted and figures are anonymous.
Hannah avoids giving titles in order to prompt dialogue. She wants her work to be inclusive, to allow viewers to interpret according to their personal experience and imagination.
