Tom is a specialist wildlife cameraman and cinematographer who has filmed across the world for the BBC, Netflix, Apple TV, Disney and National Geographic. He is tasked with depicting the stories and scenes he witnesses at the far flung corners of the Earth through the medium of moving image. Typically these stories will be focused on a particular animal behaviour that forms the basis of the sequence Tom is working to capture.
Alongside his moving image work, Tom is also a keen stills photographer. His photography is shaped by a deep connection to the places he visits and the conditions he encounters. He often waits days, even weeks, before the right conditions present themselves. Many of the places Tom is lucky enough to spend time in are undergoing irreversible changes to their very fabric - making his interpretation and record of them even more unique.
“When that exact moment comes it’s like an autopilot switch turns on. My mind and body just know what to do. For me, this is what it means to be a cameraman and a photographer - a visitor passing through these changing landscapes borrowing a moment to share with others”
