16/07/2021 THE ACBFSHOP OPENS TODAY

The ACBF team are inviting artists to have some fun, let their hair down and make some special editions for the new ACBFSHOP online. These exciting artworks and wares will be available for limited time periods only  - sometimes a few weeks, sometimes just a few days - and we’ll be adding artworks on a rolling basis so as works sell out others will be added. We’ll also be doing short interviews with the artists we are featuring in the ACBFSHOP, occasional IG Live chats as well as posting all new works and new artists on Instagram.

The ACBFSHOP will launch with three artists that sold out at the recent Flora & Fauna event: Catherine Lette, Rachel Megawhat and Haus of Lucy.

Catherine Lette is primarily a painter whose work is primarily concerned with the figure and the impact of contemporary life on the body.  Her work is making a big impact lately. She’s  been showing widely and was selected for Aucarts 'Ones to Watch’ exhibition this month. She made series of beautiful monoprints for the ACBF Flora & Fauna event which sold out in the first hour,  so she made another set over night and they sold out too! We asked Catherine if she’d consider making a third set and we’re delighted to be able to include 11 of these beautiful and distinctive works in the ACBFSHOP - though they probably won’t be there for very long!

Rachel Megawhat - Polaroids

Rachel Megawhat has been taking part in the ACBF since 2017, she’s a fascinating artist working across mediums of painting, print making and photography. Her work ranges from the political with her series of small paintings ‘Beasts of the Houses of Parliament’ to the sublimely beautiful and esoteric. Her works from an ongoing series of Flower Polaroids, shot on a vintage SLR680,  sold out at the Flora & Fauna event. Rachel has made five more of  these original, delicately beautiful works available for the launch of the ACBFSHOP.  

Haus of Lucy - Horse Brasses

Haus of Lucy thrives on creating a contrast between old and new, urban and classic. Her new edition of Horse Brasses featuring fast food behemoths is a perfect introduction to her work. If you’ve already been charmed by her witty subversions of ceramic figurines and landscape paintings then you’ll love the way she’s propelled the traditional  horse brass straight into the 21st century! There are three in the range, only 50 in the edition, all signed and numbered and they are presented on a traditional martingale strap. 

We’ll be adding more wonderful artworks next week including a brilliant new sculpture edition from Ian Dawson in advance of a show of his exciting new body of work at Flowers Gallery, and a series of beautiful etchings from Chris Burns - more NEWS on those soon.
